Coffee can be reproduced one of three ways.
Plant Propagation: The breeding of specimens of plants or animals by natural process from the parent stock.
1. Seedlings
Using the seedling method is the most common form of growing a plant. By using this method the seed must be planted or placed in a way for it too germinate. Germination is the way an organism grows from a seed or similar structure. Because a seed is produced by the pollen of its male donor which reaches the stamen of the female flower, and the pollen does not necessarily come from the same donor. The seed will produce a similar plant, but not identical to either parent.
2. Cuttings
The second most popular way to grow a plant is by cutting a leaf or branch and root it. When (rooting/cloning) a coffee bean plant either a fresh leaf stem can be used or a branch can be used. Which ever way is chosen the cut will require a rooting concoction to help the roots to grow. The cut has to be clean or it will not root.
3. Shoots
A shoot is actually a (sucker) which grows out of the bush or from a runner. These suckers already have roots themselves. All that needs to be done is dig up the sucker and replant it.
